COURSE APPROACH
Regardless of academic training or main area of expertise, the IMA Master in Purchasing Management course aims to train future managers who will be capable of making an immediate impact in business environments.
To achieve this aim, the program's approach is based on three principles:
RELEVANCE OF COURSE CONTENT
All classes are validated against the criteria of consistency, comprehensiveness and quality. The teaching staff all combine the expertise of leading professionals in purchasing or consulting.
A PERSONALIZED PROFESSIONAL PROJECT
Specific classes (for example: "Personal Development", "Purchasing Professions", etc.) allow students to build their own professional project and so enter the labour market with the best possible chances of success. Students are provided with individual support throughout the duration of the program by a tutor who is a member of the teaching team.
THE CONTRIBUTION OF PARTNER CORPORATIONS AND PUBLIC ADMINISTRATIONS
The IMA post-graduate program constantly evolves in response to the recommendations of a Program Orientation Committee which includes recognized professionals in the purchasing sector (Purchasing Directors, Organizational Consultants, Human Resources Consultants, Software editors, etc).
IMA benefits from constant exchanges with the professional world thus enabling students to gain first-hand knowledge of best practices, those needed by the modern purchaser. These exchanges take a variety of forms:
Professional Lectures
Personal accounts by professionals on specific topics. These professional lectures conducted by practicing professionals leave considerable scope for interaction between students and professionals. These professional Lectures are held on a regular basis.
Research workshops and consulting missions
They are proposed by member corporations or public administrations and carried out in groups (2 to 3 students) in addition to the scheduled classes. Each student is involved in at least 2 projects over the duration of the program.
Professional placements
Designed as periods of immersion in a Purchasing Department in France or abroad, these placements last at least 5 months. At the end of their placement, students must write a report and make a presentation.
All classes and exchanges with companies are conducted in either French or English.
